Stilo Magolide Crowdsources Features For ‘They Talk’ Street Remix
South African rapper Stilo Magolide has announced plans to revive the raw essence of hip hop with a new “street remix” of his track They Talk, inviting fans and emerging voices to help shape the collaboration.

In a candid set of remarks, Stilo revealed that the decision to rework the song is rooted in what he sees as a cultural shift within the genre. According to him, hip hop is finding its way back to its grassroots origins in the streets, regardless of industry trends or commercial pressures.
“I decided to do a remix for They Talk. I’m calling it a street remix, because hip hop is back in the streets, whether we like it or not,” he said, emphasizing a return to authenticity and community-driven creativity.
The rapper framed the streets not only as a cultural hub but also as a self-sustaining ecosystem that fuels talent and innovation. He highlighted how street culture has historically created its own economy, often independent of mainstream recognition, and suggested that this same energy should guide the remix.
Rather than limiting the feature to established names, Stilo is opening the door to a broader pool of contributors. He encouraged listeners to suggest artists they believe would bring intensity and authenticity to the track, stressing that fame is not a requirement.
“Just give me some suggestions of who you think you wanna be on this feature… it doesn’t even have to be someone famous. It just has to be a rapper who’s gonna go hard,” he said.
The move signals a deliberate shift toward inclusivity and grassroots engagement, aligning with a growing sentiment among artists who seek to reconnect hip hop with its foundational audience. By crowdsourcing potential collaborators, Stilo is not only building anticipation for the remix but also reinforcing the idea that the culture belongs to the people shaping it on the ground.
