PnB Rock and King Von Team Up on ‘Rose Gold’
King Von’s music lives on.
After appearing on Lil Durk’s album The Voice, the late Chicago rapper joins PnB Rock on his new single “Rose Gold,” which was recorded in early 2020, prior to Von’s tragic death. On the melodic street anthem, PnB honors his fallen friends.
“Two tone rose gold, Cartier skeleton / I ride with my dogs whether right or wrong / I got all these scars ’cause my ni**as gone / Tat ’em on my back and put ’em in my songs,” PnB raps before Von delivers a haunting verse: “Before I die they gon’ remember me / For being in these streets and slanging heat / Ain’t got no enemies.”
In an interview with Apple Music, the TrapStar Turnt PopStar opened up about collaborating with Von, who was killed during a shootout in Atlanta in November. “Me and Von connected outside of music. I met him through Durk, and that’s the word,” he said. “He just was a cool individual, he was different. He was a rare breed…It wasn’t only just music, that was some brotherhood we had. He was just a cool down-to-earth individual.”
PnB plans to pay tribute to his late friend with a forthcoming video, which was being discussed prior to Von’s untimely passing.
