YoungstaCPT Reflects On Friendship & Loss In Emotional Tribute To Bravo Le Roux. The South African hip-hop community is mourning the loss of one of its brightest talents after Cape Town rapper YoungstaCPT shared a heartfelt tribute to his late collaborator and friend, Bravo Le Roux.

In an emotional Instagram post, YoungstaCPT, whose real name is Chad Jones, expressed the shock and sorrow following the tragic passing of Bravo Le Roux, born Sinesipho Peter. Bravo died at the age of 30 in Switzerland in late January 2026. The post captures a raw and reflective grief that resonates across the industry.
“How can it be? 💔” YoungstaCPT wrote. “If the good die young then what does that make me? You were in the prime years of your life and here I am taking people and life for granted.”
Bravo Le Roux was known for his introspective lyricism, township-rooted storytelling, and collaborations that connected Cape Town’s vibrant hip-hop scenes. He worked closely with YoungstaCPT on tracks such as the street anthem “Yabo?!” and other fan favourites like “Which One?!” and “Impi.” Their partnership celebrated their shared Cape Town roots and blended sharp wordplay with cultural pride.
YoungstaCPT remembered Bravo as a guiding light in an industry often dark and unforgiving. He praised his friend’s aura and spirit, which uplifted those around him, and expressed concern for the future while wishing peace for Bravo’s soul and protection for his young daughter.
“Our industry is plagued by darkness yet you illuminated it with your aura and your spirit,” YoungstaCPT wrote. “I am afraid of what is still to come, but I hope it is peaceful wherever you are. May your soul find peace in the afterlife and may your daughter be covered by the protection of the Almighty as she grows.”
Drawing on Islamic traditions, YoungstaCPT mentioned the upcoming Ramadan as a time for healing and promised to prepare boeber, a traditional Cape Malay milk-based dessert, in Bravo’s honour on the 15th night. He closed his message with love, regret, and a final farewell: “I will truly miss you, Boeber Le Roux. Love you forever, my comrade. See you on the other side 🤲🏽.”
Bravo Le Roux’s passing, confirmed by his family and manager, has led to an outpouring of tributes from fans, fellow artists, and public figures, all recognising his impact on South African music. His family later revealed the cause as suicide, highlighting the urgent need for mental health awareness in creative communities.
