Megan Thee Stallion Joins Maroon 5 on New Single ‘Beautiful Mistakes’
Megan Thee Stallion’s hot streak continues.
On the heels of her collaboration with Ariana Grande and Doja Cat, the Hot Girl links up with Maroon 5 on the band’s new single “Beautiful Mistakes.” The breakup bop, which Adam Levine says reminds him of an old Blink-182 record, was co-written by blackbear.
In addition to rapping on the track, the Calvin Klein model shows off her vocal chops as she reminds her man just what he’s missing. “I know it’s hard to let go / I’m the best / Best you ever had and best you gonna get / If we break up I don’t wanna be friends / You’re toxic,” she sings.
Levine recalled meeting up with Megan for the first time on set of the video. “She’s so talented. She is a superstar, but really in the truest sense, she’s all class, and just we had the best time shooting the video, and it was just a lot of fun,” he told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “I was cracking jokes the whole time, making her laugh.”
He praised the Houston hottie for bringing the song to a “whole new level.” “It’s one of those great songs that I think kind of continues to build. And the way she built her part was just, it couldn’t have been a more epic kind of climax for the song. I mean, it really is absolutely perfect. So, I mean, what she did was just miraculous, and it brought the song to a whole new level.”
The Megan feature follows Maroon 5’s previous collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Wiz Khalifa, and Cardi B, the latter of which hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“You look back at all the crazy features we’ve been able to do, whether it’s Wiz or Kendrick…I mean, there’s like a million, you know?” he said. “Every single one has been so special, and we feel really proud of being able to carry that torch.”
“Beautiful Mistakes” is set to appear on Maroon 5’s upcoming album, the follow-up to 2017’s Red Pill Blues, which is finished and mastered. “I can tell you it’s been delivered, but I can’t tell you when it comes out. But just it’s not far off, I’ll just say that,” added Levine.
