Marcus Harvey Announces One-Take “Fountains” Short Film Set For February Release
Marcus Harvey Announces One-Take “Fountains” Short Film Set For February Release. Marcus Harvey is preparing to pull fans deeper into his world with the release of a striking visual project linked to one of his most recognisable songs.

Taking to Instagram, the Johannesburg-based singer, rapper, producer, and songwriter shared the phrase “O kitimiša pelo yaka”, a powerful Sepedi line from his track “Fountains.” Loosely translated, it speaks to a heart that is stirred or racing, capturing a feeling of emotional intensity and longing that has become central to Harvey’s sound.
He then confirmed the next chapter of the song’s journey, announcing: “Fountains one-take Short Film dropping Wed, 6 Feb 2026. Love to my @levis_africa @levis and @thebreadsa family for holding me down on this one.”
The post hints at both an ending and a fresh beginning. Harvey, born Harvey Mashiloane and raised in Alexandra township, has steadily built a loyal audience through deeply personal storytelling that blends R&B, hip hop, and soulful textures.
His earlier visual work for “Fountains” included an animated music video released in 2023, directed by Neo Shingwenyana as part of the You Still Don’t Know Me series. That chapter explored themes of vulnerability, love, and self-discovery.
This latest release shifts the song into a new cinematic space. Presented as a one-take short film, the project promises an uninterrupted and immersive experience, allowing the emotion of “Fountains” to unfold in real time. The single-shot format is set to heighten the intensity, drawing viewers into the story without distraction.
The short film arrives with backing from notable collaborators, including Levi’s Africa, Levi’s, and The Bread SA, reflecting Harvey’s growing presence at the intersection of music, fashion, and visual culture. His independent label STAY LOW, which he co-owns, continues to support his creative direction and hands-on approach.
The premiere is scheduled for Wednesday, 6 February 2026, and anticipation is already building across social media. With a catalogue of well-received projects and collaborations alongside artists such as A-Reece and Maglera Doe Boy, this release could signal a defining moment as Harvey further bridges music and filmmaking.
