2 Chainz Drops His New Album ‘So Help Me God’
2 Chainz is back with another one.
The Atlanta veteran returns with his long-awaited album So Help Me God. In addition to Lil Wayne (“Money Maker”) and Mulatto (“Quarantine Thick”), Tity Boi calls on Kevin Gates, Ty Dolla $ign, Rick Ross, and NBA YoungBoy for the 15-track collection.
The follow-up to 2019’s Rap or Go to the League also includes a collaboration with Kanye West and Brent Faiyaz (“Feel a Way”), as well as Lil Uzi Vert and Chief Keef (“Free Lighter”), with production from Mike WiLL Made-It, Yung Lan, Boi-1da, TM88, Mike Dean, David Banner, Dem Jointz, Cool & Dre, and more. He pays homage to JAY-Z on “Southside Hov” and samples Hall & Oates on “Can’t Go for That.”
So Help Me God marks 2 Chainz’ final album on Def Jam before becoming an independent artist. “So Help Me God is a testimony about being truthful,” he told Hot 97. “I like to call it a light during a dark time, meaning that it’s still a time capsule of what’s going on in 2020…but it’s not the dark side of 2020. I wanted to have something cool, something fun that could still be looked at that we know this came out in 2020. It’s very relevant.”
