XTINE Explores Love and Loss in Her New Single “Back Then”
XTINE steps into a new chapter of her alt-pop journey with “Back Then,” released first on October 31, 2025. Vulnerable, self-reflective, and emotionally raw, the track opens the door to her upcoming seven-track EP arriving January 9, 2026.
“Back Then” isn’t simply about heartbreak, it’s about the impossible desire to return to a moment that no longer exists, to a version of someone who once made the world feel whole.
The line “Told me we should take it slow, guess that means no midnight calls. Acting like I’ve let this go, but we both know I’ve lost it all” captures the moment when someone tries to pretend they’re fine with creating distance, even though it hurts deeply.
It shows the quiet heartbreak of being told to “slow down,” a softer way of saying pull back. The absence of midnight calls symbolizes the end of intimacy, those late-night conversations that once held the relationship together.
On the surface, XTINE is trying to seem strong, pretending she’s okay, pretending she’s moved on. But underneath, the truth spills out: she hasn’t let go at all. She’s falling apart, losing control of her emotions, and mourning what the relationship used to be.
It’s a lyric that beautifully captures denial, vulnerability, and the pain of loving someone who no longer shows up the same way.
Behind the music is an artist who has always written from a place of deep emotion. XTINE first discovered her creative voice at just 11 years old when she found GarageBand after transferring to a new school. Music quickly became her safe space, the place she returned to whenever words weren’t enough. By 12, she was already writing and producing her own songs.
At 14, when she was navigating complex emotions, music became the only thing that made sense. By 15, her song Beautiful Has No Cost reached thousands online, offering comfort to young listeners going through similar struggles.
Throughout her rise, XTINE has collaborated with producers like Yoad Nevo and Megan Wilde, and performed at community-focused events.
As “Back Then” begins to find its audience across platforms, XTINE continues to carve her own lane.
The track is now available on Spotify.
