News of the death of Atlanta rapper Young Scooter on March 28 has sent shockwaves through the rap community, especially due to the strange nature of his passing. On March 29, Scooter’s son, Kenneth Bailey Jr., shared multiple heartbreaking posts on social media addressing his father’s death.
“You crushed everything in me that’s all to it,” he wrote as the Instagram caption for several photos with Scooter. “Never gone heal I’ll deal wit it tho.”
“You got me sick asl bruh,” he shared in another Instagram Story post. “We tight as ever I learned everything from you. How to move around. Ain’t never hid [nothing] from me. Told me everything and yo shi safe wit me. I’m hurt shi feel weird walkin man why you did me like that[?]”
“Man got me crying every 10 mins,” he added in another post. “Ima get off this social media shi I just ain’t know how to express myself to you because [you ain’t] here no mo. Love you my dawg.”

Young Scooter Dies Tragically on His Birthday
Young Scooter died on his 39th birthday on March 28. The circumstances surrounding his death have left more questions than answers. According to the Atlanta Police Department, they responded to a call about possible shots fired and a domestic dispute at a house on William Nye Drive in Atlanta. When authorities arrived at the residence, they say the person who answered the door immediately slammed it after seeing them.
The police formed a perimeter around the home and two suspects ran out of the backdoor, one being Young Scooter, born Kenneth Bailey. The other suspect heeded to police’s commands and returned to the home, while Scooter continued running, jumping two fences in the process. When police located the rapper, he was suffering from a leg injury. Cops on the scene rendered aid in the form of a tourniquet. Scooter was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
